The Head of C2 (Command & Control) Development for SKAPION will lead the design, development, and delivery of advanced control, monitoring, and decision‑support capabilities for a next‑generation defense system. This role requires a strong technical foundation in C2 architectures, real‑time systems, and multi‑sensor integration, combined with proven leadership experience in growing and guiding high‑performing engineering teams.

Responsibilities
- Lead a multidisciplinary development team with the ability to scale into a full C2 group as the program expands.
- Define the technical vision, architecture, and roadmap for SKAPION’s C2 subsystem, ensuring alignment with system‑level requirements and operational needs.
- Drive end‑to‑end development of control and monitoring capabilities, including situational awareness, mission management, data fusion, and operator‑system interfaces.
- Collaborate closely with system engineering, algorithm teams, hardware teams, and operational experts to deliver robust, mission‑ready solutions.
- Establish development methodologies, coding standards, integration processes, and quality assurance practices suitable for defense‑grade systems.
- Mentor engineers, build team capabilities, and recruit additional talent as the group grows.
- Manage schedules, risks, and deliverables in a dynamic, multi‑stakeholder environment.
- Interface with customers, partners, and defense organizations to understand operational constraints and ensure compliance with defense standards and regulations.
Requirements
- Mandatory background in defense systems : experience with C2, ISR, autonomous platforms, weapon systems, or other mission‑critical defense technologies.
- 5+ years of hands‑on software development experience in real‑time, distributed, or mission‑critical systems.
- 2+ years of leadership experience: leading small teams, mentoring engineers, or managing technical projects.
- Strong understanding of system‑of‑systems architectures, communication protocols, data fusion, and operational workflows.
- Experience with modern development environments, CI/CD, and high‑reliability software practices.
- Excellent communication skills in English; ability to present complex concepts clearly to technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with autonomous systems, multi‑domain operations, or advanced sensor suites.
- Background in embedded systems, edge computing, or cloud‑based C2 frameworks.
- Familiarity with NATO/DoD standards, safety and certification processes, or classified program environments.
